Description

Chives are a hardy perennial and easy to grow. Looking somewhat like grass, chives have rounded spikes. Chives have a mild onion flavor and can be used in any dish that calls for onion. Many chefs use the long spikes as garnish. Most often they are snipped or chopped finely and sprinkled on top of food as garnish. When used to flavor food, chives are usually mixed with other herbs.
