Description

Rosemary is the true treasure of herbs. It is highly prized by people around the world for its medicinal, culinary, decorative, and cosmetic uses. Rosemary grows on single stems and its leaves somewhat resemble pine needles. The plant looks like a miniature pine tree and is often pruned and sold as small Christmas tree.

Uses

Rosemary is used extensively with lamb in Italy and Greece. It is increasing in popularity in North America for everything from bread to stir fry. It has uses with  poultry and tomatoes, and is wonderful paired with garlic.

Preparing                             

Strip the needles from the stems and chop or leave them whole before adding to food. Sprigs can be used whole to add flavor in poultry and meats dishes.

Serving Ideas

Use with soups, stuffing's, sauces and marinades. Rosemary can be used to flavor pasta, stews, fish and meats such as lamb, poultry and game.  Rosemary flowers can be added to salads for decorative purposes.

Storing

If stored properly , rosemary holds its quality for a long time after cutting.
