Description

Native of the Mediterranean region, Canary Isles and India. Long before manufactured deodorants and bath salts, the Romans used lavender in their bath water; the word is derived from the Latin 'lava' to wash.

Uses

It was used as a strewing herb for its insect repellent properties and for masking household and street smells. In France in is used for perfume.
